UPPAREL is Australia’s largest onshore textile recovery and recycling organisation, creating a truly circular, traceable, and ethical solution for textile waste. Their pioneering work helps brands like ours reduce landfill and reimagine what fashion waste can become.
Every item processed through UPPAREL is tracked from collection to transformation, ensuring total transparency. Their process turns old garments into UPtex — a high-performance material made from recovered textiles that replaces virgin resources across industries like construction, interior design, packaging, and acoustics.
HOW IT WORKS
When your Kunama piece reaches the end of its journey, it doesn’t have to end up in landfill.
Here’s how the circular process works:
Return your worn or unwanted pieces – Kunama garments and other textiles.
UPPAREL collects and sorts each item to determine whether it can be reused or recycled.
Reusable items are distributed to community organisations supporting people in need.
Unusable textiles are shredded, processed, and transformed into UPtex, ready to start a new life.
